The Core Framework

💡

1 — Inspiration

Helping children notice what moves them. Every creative act begins with noticing.

🧠

2 — Thought

Turning that feeling into a structured, communicable idea. The bridge between feeling and doing.

🎵

3 — Communication

Expressing that idea through music. Students present original work to their peers.

The Method

Every lesson follows three steps that lead to creativity

Designed by composer Yoham Ortiz, this framework gives classroom teachers a clear, repeatable path for teaching creative thinking — through music. These are the same steps that drive creative thinking in writing, science, and the arts.

Students learn to use creativity as a tool.

1

Inspiration

Helping children notice what moves them — the spark that starts every creative act.

2

Thought

Turning that feeling into a structured idea — the bridge between inspiration and communication.

3

Communication

Expressing that idea through music — giving every child a voice.

Why It Works

Built for Real Classrooms. Real Teachers. Real Results.

Mr. Yoham's Creativity Method™ meets your school where it is — no special equipment, no music background needed, and no extra prep time.

🎵

Cross-Curricular Impact

The creativity framework transfers directly to writing, reading, and science. Teachers report students applying this language across the school day.

🤲

Full Inclusion

No audition. Every activity has multiple entry points. Students with IEPs, sensory sensitivities, or language barriers open up in ways that surprise.

🌍

World Music Traditions

From the African kora to the Chinese erhu — students explore instruments and traditions from different parts of the world.

📋

Standards Aligned

Aligned to Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Frameworks and CASEL Social Emotional Learning competencies.

Every Child Participates

Students discover that their voice, hands, and body are tools for expression — removing every barrier to participation.

🎼

Capstone Composition

In the final session, every child—and every teacher—shares a musical piece they composed. Every composition gets applause!

How It Works

A Typical Classroom Session

Each session follows a clear, repeatable structure. No special room setup or materials required.

01

Opening

Introduce a musical concept or instrument from different parts of the world. Students discuss and respond — there are no wrong answers.

02

Exploration

Students engage physically through movement, voice, clapping, or body percussion. You are the musical instrument!

03

Creative Work

Students choose their own tool — voice, hands, or body — to express a personal inspiration.

04

Conducting

Every child takes a turn conducting the class. A consistent favorite that builds leadership and confidence!

05

Reflection

The group names what they experienced: what inspired them, what they thought, how they communicated it.

What drew us to Yoham's program was the fact that it was unique, well-rounded, and went deeper into music education than most other early childhood music programs.
